Romaine Beckford, a senior at Arkansas representing Jamaica, won the men's invitational high jump with a first-attempt clearance at 7-3 (2.21m) at the Tyson Invitational at Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville. Beckford, the reigning NCAA Division 1 indoor and outdoor champion, prevailed on fewer attempts against former Oklahoma standout Vernon Turner and Kansas junior Devin Loudermilk, who also cleared 7-3 on their second and third opportunities, respectively.
